HOW TO GUIDE
FOR CUSTOM  LETTERPRESS PRINTING AND DESIGN

It's easy, just 5 simples steps.

 

1.  Decide the quantities and pieces that you will need.
2.  Choose a design, or make an appointment to have us design for you. 
3.  Enter your wording online, or send us your wording via an email.  Our designers will layout your pieces and send you a pdf proof for your review.  Three rounds of revisions are included; we will make sure you are perfectly happy.
4. Check and double check your proof, sign and return to us with your balance.  We will print your job with great care.
5.  Sign for your delivery!

 

Details

To start, decide which components you will need and how many of each.  If you are printing invitations, it's a good idea to plan on ordering a few extra just in case.  We've found a lot of guest lists grow and it is much more expensive to print another run of invitations if you run short

Design:  Choose a design, or have us create something new.  Any of our designs can be fully customized with your choice of font, ink color, paper and embellishments.  Most of our designs can be adapted to print in one, two or three colors.  We are happy to set up a time to meet in our studio, over the phone or via email.  If you require custom design, any ideas you can bring with you to begin the design process will be helpful:  favorite colors, textures, images, time of day, season, flowers, places, artwork, music… anything that is dear to you or just strikes your fancy will help us in designing your pieces.

Estimate:  You can estimate our designs online, just choose your options and add to your shopping bag.  For custom design, once we know the specifics of the project – design, paper, ink colors, components and number of pieces we will generate a final estimate and send your order summary for review. 

Putting it all together:  Enter you wording online or send us your wording in the body of an email exactly as you’d like it printed.  Upon receipt of your final wording, we will begin the design and layout of your pieces.  (Custom design requires a 50% non-refundable deposit to begin the design process.)  Three rounds of revisions are included; additional revisions are $50 each.  There will be no charge for mistakes on our part, of course!   After the design is complete and you are perfectly happy, we will prepare your proof.

Proof:  We will email a pdf proof with the specifics of your project for you to check, double check, sign and fax back to us.  Your scheduled press date will be based on our receiving your signed proof within one business day.  If additional revisions are needed, we will issue a new proof and press date.  Upon receipt of your signed proof and balance we will order your materials and begin printing.

Timelines

Estimates for online designs:  Immediately!

Estimates for custom letterpress and design:  2 business days for projects created from our house papers and stocked materials.  If your project requires additional materials and processes the time to prepare your estimate will vary.

Layout and Design:  5 business days for any of our customized designs.

Custom artwork and design:  can take anywhere from one week to a few months, depending upon the complexity of the project.  We will be able to give you an idea of design time with an initial consultation.

Proof Preparation:  3 business days

Printing designs from our collection:  3-5 weeks from date of signed proof

Custom Letterpress Printing:  generally 5 weeks from date of signed proof.  This may vary depending on the project and our press schedule at the time of your order.

Rush Printing:  10 business days from date of signed proof - add 30% rush; 5 business days from date of signed proof - add 40% rush .   We are happy to accommodate rush orders if at all possible.  Please check with us for press availability.

Delivery:  We ship from Atlanta, Georgia using UPS and FedEx for most deliveries.  Delivery times generally range from one to seven business days.  Expedited shipping is always available.  We require a signature for custom letterpress deliveries
